RI WARRIORS

COVID 19 Plan

COVID

Our main goal is to have the boys on the courts, but of course, we want to do it safely.  The following is our plan to keep everyone safe:

This plan is subject to change as the state moves through different phases and updated guidelines and restrictions are communicated. Coaches, players and families must adhere to the guidelines below in order to ensure the safety of all and compliance with State of RI Guidelines to play.

  • All activities are optional. Parents should self-assess the risk of their child’s participation in light of other risk factors, such as pre-existing medical conditions, before deciding to participate.

  • Coaches, players and families should self-screen for symptoms of COVID-19 and any contact with an infected individual before each event.

  • Coaches and players should NOT come to practice if they or a family member are exhibiting symptoms or have had confirmed contact with an infected individual in the last 14 days and have not been vaccinated.

  • SK Rec Center - Face masks are required for all individuals in any of the common areas, the foyer, bathrooms, etc.  Masks can be removed once entering the gym.

  • Charlestown Elementary School - Right now mask wearing is required by everyone in school buildings and this includes outside groups that are using the schools.

  • We will not be allowing spectators at the practices, members only.

  • All participants should wash and/or sanitize hands (using hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol) before, during, and after practice activities.

  • Players must bring their own ball and water bottle and not share their water.

  • During water breaks, players must adhere to staying six feet apart.

  • No handshakes, fist bumps, high fives or other unnecessary contact.

  • Additional cleaning supplies (disinfectant spray, hand sanitizer and paper towels) will be available before and after practice.

  • Each team unit shall contain no more than 15 individuals, including players and coaches, and the groups shall not change week to week.

  • Scrimmages are allowed only within the 15-person stable group.

  • If a player has participated in practice and contracts COVID,  you must notify your child's coach and our administrator at [email protected] or 401-226-7999.

We are doing what we feel is the best and safest way to get these boys back on the hardwood! This is not about T-shirts or wins/loses it’s about getting them prepared for the upcoming Travel, Jr high and High School seasons
